Earlier, reports claimed that the youngster of team India, Shubman Gill, was being released from T20 World Cup reserves and would be sent back home for disciplinary issues.
The opener of the India cricket team, Shubman Gill, who traveled with the team as a reserve for the T20 World Cup, has been released from the side owing to a finger injury. As per reports, Gill sustained the niggle during the IPL 2024 and carried it throughout the tournament into the WC. The report further stated that a call on whether he requires surgery will be taken by the National Cricket Academy medical team.
Last week, speculations of Gill being sent back home due to disciplinary issues started doing the rounds in the news circuit. Additionally, rumors of an alleged rift with skipper Rohit Sharma were circulated on social media. However, Gill quashed the rumors by sharing a picture with the Hitman and his daughter and a witty caption.
Shubman Gill failed to make it to India’s 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup and was named among the traveling reserves along with four other players. However, reports emerged that Gill would be sent home along with Avesh Khan before the Super Eight stage began.
