New Zealand sets India a mammoth 359-run target in 2nd cricket test test

New Zealand set India a target of 359 runs in the second Test in Pune on Saturday. The Kiwis, looking for their first Test series win in India, were all out for 255 runs in the second innings.

Captain Tom Latham led the attack on the second day, scoring 86 runs off just 133 balls. However, on the third day New Zealand lost five wickets within one. The visiting team managed to add 57 runs to the overnight score of 198/5. Glenn Phillips scored the highest and remained unbeaten on 48 runs.

Washington Sundar, who had taken seven wickets in the first innings, took four wickets in the second innings. Left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets, while Ravichandran Ashwin got two wickets.

On the second day, New Zealand bowled out India for 156 runs in the first innings and took a lead of 103 runs.
