Nitish Kumar Reddy smashed maiden hundred against Australia

Nitish Kumar Reddy achieved a significant milestone by scoring his maiden international century on December 28 during the third day of the fourth Test against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The 21-year-old reached this landmark in 171 deliveries, hitting nine fours and one six, showcasing his talent and resilience.

Coming in to bat at number eight, Reddy became the first Indian to score a century from that position in Australia, surpassing the previous record held by Anil Kumble, who scored 87 in 2008. His innings was crucial for India, especially after they found themselves struggling at 191 for 6. Throughout the series, Reddy has been one of India’s most consistent performers, having scored important runs when the top order faltered. Prior to his century, he had scores of 41, 38*, and 42 in earlier matches.
