No clear favourite to replace Jay Shah as secretary yet as BCCI Election on Sep 29

The date for the BCCI election is out. Although the BCCI Election was not on the agenda initially for the Annual General Meeting (BCCI AGM) on Sep 29 in Bengaluru, the Indian Cricket Board has released the election schedule, asking the state associations to submit their nominees. While Roger Binny is likely to stay on as the BCCI president for another term, there will be an election for a new secretary who will replace Jay Shah.

After a highly successful stint as the BCCI secretary, he moved to the ICC. As he will take charge as the next ICC chairman in December, BCCI will need a new secretary.

BCCI has instructed all state associations to submit their nominees by September 24, 4 PM. Valid nominations will be announced on Sep 25 while candidates can withdraw their name by Sep 26, 1 PM. The final list of candidates will be out on Sep 26, 3 PM. AK Joti is the electoral officer like last time.
