On December 15 WPL 2025 auction to be held in Bengaluru
The Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction is scheduled for December 15 at the ITC Gardenia in Bengaluru, as announced by the board of Control for Cricket in India. A total of 19 slots will be available, comprising 14 Indian and 5 overseas players.
Franchises revealed their retentions on November 7, with the Gujarat Giants holding the largest budget of Rs 4.40 crore to fill six slots. This auction marks a return to Bengaluru, contrasting with the last two IPL auctions held overseas, including this year’s in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where 182 players were sold. The WPL aims to enhance its profile and competitiveness in women’s cricket, building on its previous successes.The 10 franchises spent a total of Rs 639.15 crore in the event.
