On Meeting Virat Kohli For 1st Time, England Star Signed By RCB says, "You Realise You're..."

Jacob Graham Bethell, a 21-year-old English cricketer born in Barbados, is gaining recognition for his all-round abilities in T20, ODI, and Test cricket. Bethell made his international debut for England in a T20I series against Australia in September 2024. His impressive performances, including becoming the youngest Englishman to score a T20I half-century, earned him a spot in the Test squad for the tour of New Zealand in late 2024.

In a recent ODI against India in Nagpur, Bethell scored a half-century and took the wicket of Shreyas Iyer, showcasing his potential as a genuine all-rounder. He was later picked up by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for Rs 2.2 crore at the IPL 2025 mega auction. Bethell has expressed his excitement about joining RCB and playing alongside stars like Virat Kohli. He also noted the support he has received from RCB fans.

"As soon as you play against someone, you realise you're playing the same game and they can make the same mistakes you can. It's just that those guys obviously got a lot better at not making the mistakes," Bethell explained.

Former England wicket-keeper Matt Prior has compared Bethell to Joe Root, noting similarities in character and maturity. Jacob considers himself a genuine all-rounder, ready to contribute with both bat and ball. England captain Jos Buttler praised Bethell's maturity and measured approach
