Mayank Yadav, who is 21 years old, has set the cricket world buzzing with his fiery 150+ kmph deliveries. After just two games, the LSG pacer already holds the record for bowling the most 155+ kmph deliveries in IPL 2024. Steve Smith doesn’t think that teams should be worried only about his fiery pace.
Steve Smith said, “If you look at all those balls, there wasn’t one slower ball there, so you don’t have to worry about that at this stage. He might have it in his armory; we haven’t seen it yet, but you can probably trust him to get inside the line or maybe give a bit of room, use the pace, and let it come to you. The thing that impressed me is that he’s played his debut game the other day; obviously, there’ll be a lot of hype around him, and you see a lot of players have that one good game and then just can’t back it up. But he’s come straight back in, bowling like an absolute genius. So, Mayank Yadav, remember the name.”
In just his second IPL appearance, Mayank Yadav bagged his second consecutive ‘Player of the Match’ award, a feat unseen before in the tournament’s history.
He dismantled the famed RCB batting line-up, dismissing Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green in quick succession and conceding a mere 14 runs in his four overs.
