Once again, the Pakistan Cricket Board has launched its search for coaches. With Mohsin Naqvi taking charge of the PCB, Pakistan is once again eying foreign coaches. This time, former director of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mike Hesson, is one of the favorites, besides former West Indies captain Daren Sammy.
PCB and Mickey Arthur parted ways after a disappointing World Cup campaign, with Mohammad Hafeez coming in as the team director for the Australia-New Zealand tour. However, that arrangement did not last long either. Hence, PCB is looking abroad once more.
Currently, both Mike Hesson and Daren Sammy are in Pakistan for PSL 2024. Hesson is the head coach of Islamabad United, while Sammy is with Peshawar Zalmi.
As per the report, PCB is also considering an option to involve Sir Viv Richards. PCB wants to offer the mentorship role to Richards. With New Zealand touring Pakistan next month for a five-match T20 series, PCB is in a hurry to rope in a coach by then. New Zealand will arrive in Pakistan on April 14, with the first T20I set to be played on April 18.
