Pakistan legend Shahid Afridi joins the star-studded line-up of T20 World Cup ambassadors

The cricket legend of Pakistan cricket team ShahidAfridi has been revealed as the latest ambassador for the ICC men’s T20 World Cup 2024. He joined the prestigious lineup that includes Yuvraj Singh, Chris Gayle, and Usain Bolt.
The former all-rounder of the Pakistan cricket team, who is very well known for his explosive batting and electrifying presence on the field, is going to participate in promotional activities and provide expert insight leading up to the tournament. 
ShahidAfridi, a veteran of six T20 World Cups, led Pakistan to victory in the 2009 edition, where he gave a memorable Player of the Match performance in the final. While expressing his excitement about the upcoming tournament, he highlighted the expanded format with more teams and matches than ever before.
Afridi said, "The ICC Men's T20 World Cup is an event that is very close to my heart. From being Player of the Tournament in the inaugural edition to lifting the trophy in 2009, some of my favourite career highlights have come from competing on this stage."
He specifically anticipates the highly anticipated India-Pakistan clash, scheduled for June 9 in New York. The ICC Men's T20 World Cup will take place from June 1st to 29th across the USA and West Indies. The tournament kicks off with the USA facing Canada in Texas, with the final scheduled for Barbados.
