Pietersen unbothered about opener’s consecutive flops says, “Sanju Samson is mentally sound, love him”

Sanju Samson’s performance in the ongoing T20I series against England has raised concerns, as he has struggled to make an impact with the bat. Despite a promising start at Eden Gardens with 26 runs, he followed up with disappointing scores of 5 and 3 in the subsequent matches. His struggles continued in the third T20I, where he was dismissed for just 3 runs, marking his third consecutive low score.

Former England captain Kevin Pietersen remains optimistic about Samson’s potential, expressing his admiration for the batter’s skills. He believes that Samson has not been given a consistent role in the team, which has hindered his performance. Pietersen emphasized that while Samson may be facing challenges now, he is a talented player capable of bouncing back.

Critics have pointed out that Samson’s issues against express pace bowling have become a significant concern. Aakash Chopra highlighted that his performances against fast bowlers have been “extremely ordinary,” raising questions about his technique. As India leads the series 2-0, all eyes will be on Samson to see if he can turn his fortunes around in the remaining matches and solidify his place in the team.
