The Indian cricket team has travelled to Rajkot to play the third Test of the 5-match IND vs. ENG Test series. The Indian team will be staying at Rajkot’s Sayaji Hotel during the course of the match. Ahead of the match, special arrangements have been made for the team in the hotel, including a special Kathiyawadi cuisine.
Captain Rohit Sharma and wicket-keeping batter KL Rahul will get special treatment in the Saurashtra heritage-themed hotel, having been allocated suites.
As part of the Royal Heritage theme, Rohit has been given the presidential suite room, which highlights Saurashtra’s royal culture. In a special interview, hotel director Urvesh Purohit informed AajTak that since players travel the world and typically book rooms with Western themes, this will offer them a little variation.
According to the same source, special Gujarati and Kathiyawadi meals were prepared for the players on February 13 before the game started.
The menu includes traditional food items like Fafda-Jalebi, Khakhra, Gathiya, Thepla, and Khman for breakfast and special Kathiyawadi food like Dahi Tikari, Vagherela Rotlo (Bajra Roti fried with yogurt and garlic), and Khichdi Kadhi for dinner.
Now it remains to be seen if the Indian players can perform royally in the IND vs. ENG 3rd Test after being given the royal treatment in the 5-star luxury hotel.
