Punjab Defeat Baroda in the Finals of SMAT, Netizens praise Arshdeep Singh, Anmolpreet
The fast bowler of team Punjab, Arshdeep Singh, was absolutely phenomenal in the death overs as his team defeated Baroda in the final match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Anmolpreet Singh also stroked a record-making century as Punjab went on to clinch their maiden title. While chasing the huge target of 223 runs, Baroda fell short by 20 runs in the finals of SMAT, which were played at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.
After being invited to bat, first Punjab lost Abhishek Sharma on the very first ball of the match, and the other opener, Prabhsimran Singh, also felt like it was the Anmolpreet Singh show as he completed a century. He was well supported by senior batsman Mandeep Singh, as he scored 32 runs in 23 balls in the bowling department, took three important wickets, and also bowled brilliantly at the death overs to give Punjab a memorable victory on their home ground.
