Rashid Khan will lead MI Cape town in SA20 in 2025 Season

Rashid Khan will captain MI Cape Town in the upcoming SA20 2025 season, marking his return to the franchise after a year out due to injury. The Afghan leg-spinner previously showcased his skills in the inaugural season, taking nine wickets at an impressive economy rate of 6.92. His leadership and bowling prowess are expected to bolster MI Cape Town’s performance, especially after a challenging last season.

Joining Rashid in the squad is England’s Test captain Ben Stokes, New Zealand pacer Trent Boult, and Afghanistan all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai. The team aims to inject more firepower into their lineup, with Omarzai recently excelling in the Global T20 Canada as the leading wicket-taker.

MI Cape Town has retained key players like Dewald Brevis and Kagiso Rabada while integrating new talent for a competitive edge. The squad is looking to improve upon their previous seasons, where they struggled significantly, finishing last in both SA20 seasons so far.

The SA20 2025 season is set to begin on February 19, and MI Cape Town will be eager to make a strong impression under Rashid’s leadership as they aim for their first championship title.
