Ravindra Jadeja completes 600 wickets for India, breaks Anderson’s record

Ravindra Jadeja achieved a significant milestone on February 6, 2025, during the first ODI against England in Nagpur, becoming the fifth Indian bowler to take 600 international wickets. The veteran all-rounder reached this landmark in his 411th innings. Jadeja showcased his spin bowling prowess at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, contributing to India’s performance.

Jadeja’s achievement places him among the elite Indian bowlers, joining Anil Kumble, Ravichandran Ashwin, Harbhajan Singh, and Kapil Dev. He is also the first Indian left-arm spinner to reach this mark. Furthermore, Jadeja has demonstrated his dominance against prominent batsmen, dismissing England’s Joe Root 12 times and Australia’s Steven Smith 11 times in his international career.

In the same match, Jadeja surpassed James Anderson’s record for the most wickets in ODIs between India and England. Jadeja’s ability to trouble top-order batsmen solidifies his legacy as one of India’s finest cricketers. During the game, Jadeja made an immediate impact, claiming the first wicket by dismissing Joe Root with a faster delivery.
