RCB clinches a thrilling victory by 6 wickets

In a thrilling opener of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) clinched a dramatic victory by six wickets over Gujarat Giants at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara on February 14, 2025. Chasing a target of 202 runs, RCB faced early setbacks but showcased resilience to secure the win.

Gujarat Giants set a competitive total of 201 runs, with Ash Gardner leading the charge, scoring a blistering 79 runs off just 37 balls. Her innings included eight sixes, tying the record for the most sixes in a WPL innings. However, RCB’s bowlers managed to restrict the Giants effectively, with Renuka Singh and Wareham taking crucial wickets.

In response, RCB stumbled initially, losing two quick wickets for just 13 runs. However, a standout performance from RaghviBist and an explosive finish from Ellyse Perry and Richa Ghosh propelled RCB to victory. Ghosh remained unbeaten on 64 runs off 27 balls, guiding RCB home with an over to spare.

This victory not only marks a strong start for the defending champions but also sets the tone for an exciting season ahead in the WPL.
