Rehan Ahmed, an England spinner, stopped and was questioned at the airport for an incorrect visa

During the IND vs. ENG Test series, the England Cricket Team faced another visa snag upon re-entering India following a week-long break. Rehan Ahmed was the only one who was stopped and questioned at the Hirasar airport near Rajkot for carrying an incorrect visa. At the temporary immigration counter, Rehan’s visa was found to be a single-entry visa.
With a single-entry visa, a person cannot exit and reenter India. The England Cricket Team left India following the 2nd Test in Vizag to rejuvenate in Abu Dhabi. They took a charter flight to Rajkot directly. However, immigration officials stopped Rehan Ahmed at the airport. This is the second time England is facing a visa snag after Shoaib Bashir’s paperwork was incorrect.
A BCCI official said, “The England team has been advised to process the visa again, which will be happening in the next two days. The player was allowed to enter the country with the rest of the team, and he will be appearing in practice on Tuesday.”
However, local authorities helped Rehan Ahmed obtain a two-day visa. He will join England’s practice on Tuesday in Rajkot. The third IND vs. ENG test begins on February 15.
