Rohit Sharma is still unsure of India's batting line-up as Rishabh Pant at No. 3 creates more headaches

Despite a victory of 60 runs over Bangladesh in their ICC T20 World Cup warm-up clash, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma remains unsure about the final batting line-up. This uncertainty comes amidst Rishabh Pant’s impressive return to form at No. 3, creating a selection headache for the Men in Blue.

Pant, making his comeback to competitive cricket after a long injury layoff, stole the show with a breathtaking 53 runs off just 32 balls, including four sixes and fours.

However, this impressive display also raises questions about the batting order, as Rohit Sharma admits they haven’t “nailed it yet.” Rohit Sharma emphasized the importance of giving “most guys” a chance to bat, explaining their decision to promote Pant to number 3.

“While taking about Rishabh Pant batting at 3, Rohit said, Just to give him an opportunity. We have not nailed the batting line-up yet; we wanted most guys to get a hit in the middle. (On Arshdeep Singh) He has shown us he has the skills upfront and also the backend; he has a very good skill set. We have got a good 15 players here; we just need to nail down the conditions and pick the best players,” Rohit Sharma said after the match.

Former Sri Lankan cricketer Russell Arnold believes promoting Pant was a strategic move. He highlights the importance of Pant regaining confidence after his absence, while also praising the added flexibility it offers the team.
