Salil Ankola to make way out of the BCCI Selection Committee, and the reason is Ajit Agarkar

The BCCI senior men's selection committee is soon going to undergo one major change. The selector of West Zone, Salil Ankola, who is a former India bowler, will leave the existing committee, and shockingly, the reason is chief selector Ajit Agarkar. The BCCI decided there couldn’t be two selectors from the same zone. Ajit Agarkar, a former captain of India and Mumbai, was chosen by the Indian board to serve as the new chairman of the selection committee a few months ago.
Now the BCCI has decided that since Salil Ankola and Ajit Agarkar are both from the West Zone, it would be best if the former’s time as a senior selector did not get extended once it expires.
The current selectors were given a one-year contract by the Indian board, and they must reapply in December of this year. Ajit Agarkar, SS Das, Subroto Banerjee, S Sharath, and Salil Ankola make up the current selection committee.
It has been learned that the BCCI will receive approval from the house to invite applications once the term expires during its annual general body meeting, which will be held in Goa. The board will also present the selecting committee with a revised compensation check at the same time. On September 25, the BCCI will hold its 92nd Annual General Meeting. Mumbai hosted the last BCCI AGM on October 18, 2022.
