Sanjay Bangar has claimed that the Indian team will not be looking to make any changes for their final Super 4s clash against Bangladesh on Friday, September 15.
Earlier in the tournament, India had defeated Pakistan by a huge margin of 228 runs, securing the top spot in the points table. This also gave India the best net run rate in the tournament. Now India can opt to rest some of the key players for the Bangladesh clash as it is a dead rubber, but Bangar feels India will go with a strong lineup.
While talking, the former batting coach felt that India would be aiming to field the same lineup in order to keep the momentum going. He also feels the bowlers haven't been tested enough and that there's little chance we will get to see different players.
Bangar said, "Rohit Sharma will definitely play. Shubman Gill is a youngster, so he will play. Virat Kohli likes this ground a lot, so you can't ask Virat Kohli to sit out on this ground. The players at No. 4 and No. 5 are trying to cement their places and will want to play."
"The bowlers didn't need to do too much work. Jasprit Bumrah didn't have to bowl his entire quota of 10 overs in both matches. Similarly, Hardik Pandya and Mohammed Siraj also didn't have to do that."
While continuing his statement, he said, "It will be better if they play with the same players. Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma will not want the players' rhythm to break. There was a two-day break as well. They played three days consecutively, but after that they would have got a good break of two days."
