Shikhar Dhawan Predicts India will Champions Trophy 2025
Shikhar Dhawan has expressed strong confidence in India’s chances of winning the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which begins on February 19. The former Indian opener believes that the team, led by Rohit Sharma, is well-equipped to claim the title, especially after their impressive performance in the recent ODI series against England. Dhawan stated, “I cannot see beyond India. They have a solid team and have shown great form.”
However, he acknowledged the significant impact of JaspritBumrah’s absence due to injury, describing him as one of the world’s best bowlers. Dhawan emphasized that Bumrah’s unique bowling style and accuracy will be sorely missed during the tournament. Despite this concern, he is optimistic about the potential of newcomer Harshit Rana, who has recently made a mark in white-ball cricket.
Dhawan highlighted the balanced nature of the Indian squad, featuring a mix of experienced players and young talent like Shubman Gill. He believes that Gill can play a crucial role in the tournament. With high hopes for Team India, Dhawan anticipates a strong showing and recalls their previous performance in the last Champions Trophy, where they reached the final but fell short.
