Shreyas Iyer dismisses reports of missing Ranji Trophy tie against Tripura saying, “Do some homework”

Shreyas Iyer took to social media platform X on Wednesday to refute recent reports about his cricketing future, urging for “homework” to be done before publishing such content. The report claimed that ShreyasIyer would need rest for at least a week, citing BCCI officials and hence would miss the clash against Tripura that begins on October 26. Iyer has been playing regular red-ball cricket in the domestic circuit since August as he aims at making his comeback to the Indian Test side.

In response of this report Shreyas said, “Guys seriously let’s do some homework before publishing news.”

Iyer’s call for accuracy reflects his frustration with media narratives that may not accurately represent his situation or commitment to the team. As he prepares for the upcoming second Test in Pune, Iyer aims to focus on improving his game rather than being distracted by external commentary. His leadership role with Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL has also been a significant aspect of his career, especially after guiding the team to its third title earlier this year.

ShreyasIyer stated that he was focusing on “controlling the controabbles” and keeping his body in shape. The swashbuckling middle-order batter is currently out of the favour of selectors and last featured in a Test earlier this year in the IND vs ENG series.
