Shubman Gill has been named Gujarat Titans captain, following the franchise's confirmation of Hardik Pandya's return to Mumbai Indians via trade. Gill, who won the Orange Cap earlier this year, will succeed Hardik, who coached GT for two seasons, winning the IPL in 2022 and finishing second in 2023.Gill, who began his IPL career with the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2018, was signed by the franchise for Rs 7 crore in 2021. The batter has evolved into one of the team's linchpins, frequently providing blazing starts to set the tone for the innings.He has also demonstrated a penchant for large scores, scoring three century for the franchise in the 2023 IPL."In the last two years, Shubman Gill has grown in stature and standing at the highest level of the game."
