The head coach of Sri Lanka cricket team, Chris Silverwood, praised the dominating bowling attack of team India, which was shown at the ICC World Cup 2023, and highlighted spearhead Jasprit Bumrah and his support as a cause of envy for other oppositions at the marquee tournament.
With Sri Lanka next in India's sights at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, i.e., November 2, the Lankan support staff head lavished rich praise on Bumrah and company for flexing their muscles in an incredible six-match winning streak for skipper Rohit Sharma's men.
Silverwood would've watched in awe when India butchered his former troops England in Lucknow last Sunday, recovering ground despite a paltry score of 229/9 to ultimately clinch a win by a whopping 100-run margin.
At the pre-match press conference, Silverwood said, "If you look at that bowling attack and you watch them operate, it is a very strong bowling attack. I think any team in the world would want an attack like that, to be honest.”
He further added, "But we see that as a great challenge for our guys. We see it as an opportunity to go out and play against the best and, I mean, pit ourselves against that. But there is no hiding; it is a very good bowling attack.”
