The former captain of the Indian cricket team, Sourav Ganguly, expects India to play the same good cricket as they have been playing since the Asia Cup to win the upcoming ODI World Cup, which is going to start on October 5.
Notably, under the able captaincy of Rohit Sharma, the Men in Blue did a commendable job and bagged the continental cup by beating Sri Lanka by ten wickets in the finals. Later, the team went on to defeat Australia 2-1 in the three-match ODI series at home in the build-up to the World Cup.
Speaking about the chances for India, Ganguly reminded them that the upcoming ODI World Cup will be a big tournament for the team. He also expressed that the team is currently playing a good brand of cricket, and hence, it’s a matter of delight, but added that they will have to repeat the same for the next 45 days in order to bag the trophy.
Ganguly said, “This is going to be a big World Cup. The World Cup is a big tournament. India has been playing very well, so it is a matter of delight. We hope that they continue to play the same good cricket for the next 45 days.”
