The batsman of Sri Lanka cricket team Kusal Mendis smashed a century in 65 balls with the help of 13 boundaries and four sixes against Pakistan in a World Cup match at Hyderabad on October 10, i.e., Tuesday. Mendis also looked in excellent form against South Africa in his previous World Cup match, as he smashed 76 runs off just 42 balls as he continued his red-hot form in India. With Mendis in such form, franchises from the Indian Premier League will definitely keep an eye on the Sri Lankan batter as he continues to impress in the neighbouring country.
The Mendis 65-ball hundred is now the sixth fastest century in the history of the ODI World Cup. It is to be noted that South African batsman Aiden Markram recently achieved the top spot after smashing a century in only 49 balls against Sri Lanka in 2023 in Delhi.
