On Tuesday, in the second T20I of the ongoing series between South Africa and India, both sides faced off at St. George's Park in Gqeberha on December 12. After the first game in Durban was washed out without a ball being bowled, both sides hoped that the weather would be better for the second T20I.
The Indian cricket team batted first, and the performance of Rinku Singh caught the eye instantly as his unbeaten knock of 68 runs in 39 deliveries helped team India post a competitive total of 180 runs in the first innings. After the game, the star batter revealed the chat that he had with skipper Suryakumar Yadav. Furthermore, he apologized for breaking the window of the commentator’s box as well.
In a video shared by the BCCI, Rinku Singh said, “When I went out to bat, we were three wickets down, and it was tough, and the only chat I had with Surya while batting was him telling me to play my own game and continue to play like I usually do. I took my time to settle as it was tough in the beginning, but with time, I started to understand the deliveries and performed well."
He further added that “I hit a six, and I did not know that the glass had been broken; you came, and that is when I got to know, so sorry for that.”
