Statement of Zaheer Khan on Stability in the Coaching Structure of India After the Extension of Rahul Dravid
There was uncertainty in the Indian cricket fraternity regarding the continuity of the head coach, Rahul Dravid, after his side suffered a heartbreaking loss against Australia in the 2023 World Cup finals. After the ODI World Cup, Dravid was handed an extension.
While speaking, former Indian cricketer Zaheer Khan reacted to the news regarding the system behind the Indian cricket team. He said,” I have a general view talking about this. With so much cricket happening, you need that continuity factor, which is going to be very important. You need that stability when there are so many moving parts to have something constant.”
Zaheer added, “So whoever becomes the coach needs to be constant and maintain that continuity for a while. You form a nice setup with the higher-ups like the BCCI, the NCA, the Indian team, and the captains across all formats.”
