Team India aims to break the 31-year-old Jinx in the IND vs SA Test series
The Indian cricket team has largely been dominant in almost every country they have played in. It is perhaps not a surprise, given the huge talent pool the Indian team possesses. However, there’s one frontier India is yet to capture: winning a Test series in South Africa. As the IND vs. SA Test series approaches, it will most certainly be an added motivation for India, especially after winning the IND vs. SA ODI series.
The squad selection of India for the IND vs. SA Test series is ample proof of India’s intent. After resting the seniors for the white ball series, India has named a full-strength squad for the two-match red ball series, consisting of the likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
Such has been the seriousness to win the Test series that India have only retained four players from the ODI squad. KL Rahul, Mukesh Kumar, Shreyas Iyer, and Ruturaj Gaikwad are the only players to have retained their place in the Test squad, with all other players from the ODI squad going home.
