Team India Defeat England by 100 Runs in the World Cup 2023 Clash
The Indian cricket team started the second innings of the match in a dominating fashion as they picked up wickets in the first power play while giving only 40 runs. Dawid Malan, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root, and Ben Stokes—all these batsmen were dismissed in the first 10 overs. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami picked up two wickets each. This was followed by Kuldeep Yadav picking up the important wicket of Jos Butler and Shami returning to action in the 24th over to dismiss Moeen Ali. At the end of 25 overs, the England cricket team was at 84 runs at the loss of six wickets.
Earlier, the England cricket team led by David Willey kept India down to 229-9 despite Captain Rohit Sharma's 87 in a must-win World Cup match for the defending champions on Sunday.
The 2019 champions are sitting at the bottom of the 10-team table with four defeats from the five matches they have played. England have won only one of their last five matches in the tournament. The only team they have beaten is Bangladesh (by 137 runs). They lost to New Zealand by 9 wickets, to Afghanistan by 69 runs, to South Africa by 229 runs, and to Sri Lanka by 8 wickets. Facing the best team in the tournament at this stage won't make things easy for England.
