Team India defeated New Zealand by four wickets in the World Cup 2023 clash

The India cricket team continued their unbeaten run in the 2023 World Cup campaign by defeating New Zealand by four wickets. While chasing the target of 274 runs set by the New Zealand cricket team, India won the match by 4 wickets, with Virat Kohli scoring 94 runs in this tricky chase, which helped the team avenge the agonizing loss suffered in the semi-final match on the same stage four years ago.
Kohli dug in and followed his brilliant hundred against Bangladesh in the previous match by smashing another match-winning knock. The former captain of Team India, however, missed out on what would have been his 49th ODI century by a whisker. He was adequately assisted by Ravindra Jadeja, unbeaten 35* at the back end of the chase, as the southpaw reminded his critics that he was still a handful with the bat in the 50-over format.
New Zealand momentarily threatened to take away the game, but the experience of Kohli-Jadeja ensured that India reached the victorious end without any other hiccup.
With this victory, India have knocked New Zealand off the top of the points table and have put one foot in the semi-finals. Meanwhile, New Zealand slips to the second spot but still remains firmly in contention to join India in the knockouts.
