The heart-warming gesture of Shubman Gill towards the family of Abhishek Sharma went viral
The much-awaited match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans on Thursday turned out to be a damp squib because of the persistent rain. While fans left disappointed without any on-field action ahead, a warming moment between players from both teams stole the show and went viral.
The young all-rounder of Sunrisers Hyderabad, Abhishek Sharma, who was unable to show his skills on the field because of the poor weather, took the opportunity to introduce Shubhman Gill, who is the captain of the Gujarat Titans, to his family in the stands. The family of Sharma, including the mother of Abhishek Manju and sister Komal, were excited to meet Gill.

But it was the gesture by Gill that truly melted everyone's heart online. The opener of the Gujarat Titans displayed immense respect by bending down to touch the feet of Manju, a traditional sign of reverence in the culture of India; he then shared warm smiles and handshakes with Komal, leaving everyone with a sense of wholesome camaraderie.
This public display of affection was not just a random act of kindness. The bond between Abhishek and Gill runs deep. The two young cricketers are from Punjab and have been friends since their days playing age-group cricket together. Their journey intertwined further when they both made their first-class debut for Punjab in the same season, which was in 2017, and were part of the victorious Indian U-19 World Cup team in 2018.
