The IPL 2024 schedule is to be announced on February 22 at 5 p.m. as the wait is over
The schedule for the Indian Premier League season 2024 is set to be announced on Thursday, i.e., February 22, at 5 p.m. The fixtures will be announced during a live show streamed on JioCinema.
Earlier, the Chairman of IPL, Arun Dhumal, confirmed that the tournament will begin on March 22 and will be entirely held in India, despite the fact that the tournament coincides with general elections.
Arun Dhumal said, “We are looking at a March 22 start for the tournament. We are working closely with the government agencies, and we will first release the initial schedule.”
The chairman revealed that only the first 15-day schedule of the IPL will be initially announced, with the remainder of the fixtures to be released after the announcement of election dates.
The opening match of the IPL 2024 will reportedly be played between last year’s champions, the Chennai Super Kings, and the runners-up, the Gujarat Titans. The final of IPL 2024 is expected to be played on May 26, just a few days before the start of the T20 World Cup, and is set to be played in the West Indies and the USA.
