The match between KKR and RR on April 17 might get rescheduled

The home game of the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on April 17 is in doubt. Earlier, the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals was scheduled to be held on that day, but the Board of Control for Cricket in India is considering either relocating the game or rescheduling it to another day. All parties, including the franchises, state associations, and broadcasters, have hinted about it.
The uncertainty is due to the festival of Rama Navami. This annual festival is celebrated nationwide, and authorities are unsure if they can provide adequate security for the IPL game that night. While further complicating matters, the country is also undergoing a general election simultaneously. In light of these considerations, the BCCI is weighing the option of postponing the game.
It is understood that the BCCI and Cricket Association of Bengal are in touch with the Kolkata police. As of now, a final decision has not been made, but the BCCI has still expressed doubts about the potential change in the schedule for the two franchises as well as the broadcasters.
