The meeting of BCCI with IPL team owners on April 16 regarding policy changes in tournament cancelled
The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) meeting with team owners of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on April 16th has been cancelled. The meeting, supposed to be held in Ahmedabad. News agency PTI had reported that the meeting was called to discuss various aspects of the IPL 2025 mega auction.
It was reported that invitations to all ten franchise owners, who were anticipated to attend the meeting with their respective CEOs, had been sent by IPL CEO Hemang Amin.
However, a news agency confirmed that the franchise owners have not received any such invitation from IPL so far.
As per the statement of the source, “Nothing has been communicated to the franchises so far, so it’s safe to say that the meeting will not happen.”
The meeting was supposed to be attended by BCCI officials, including President Roger Binny, Secretary Jay Shah, and IPL Chairman Arun Singh Dhumal.
The meeting was anticipated to cover a number of policy decisions intended to influence the IPL’s future, specifically with relation to player retentions, auction procedures, and the salary cap. It is to be noted that, a mega auction is scheduled to take place ahead of IPL 2025.
