The New Zealand Cricket Team continued their winning streak in the 2023 World Cup with a 99-run victory against the Netherlands

On Monday, October 9, the New Zealand cricket team got their second victory in the ICC World Cup 2023 by beating the Netherlands by 99 runs. The Kiwis were once again led by Tom Latham in the absence of Kane Williamson and proved superior to the ICC associate member in all departments of the game. The second straight victory took the Kiwis to the top of the table.

Three New Zealand batsmen scored half-centuries as they made a huge total of 322 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in their 50 overs before bowling out the Dutch for 233. Off-spinner Mitchell Santner claimed a fifer 10-0-59-5 and denied the Netherlands any chance to stage an upset.

While in-form all-rounder Bas de Leede was dismissed for 18 by Rachin Ravindra, who earlier made 51 with the bat, Colin Ackermann top-scored for the Dutch, making 69 from 73 balls.Captain Scott Edwards and Sybrand Engelbrecht made 30 and 29, respectively. The Dutch are coming off a loss against Pakistan. Although the team gave a tough fight, they could not get over the line. The Netherlands have performed well in the past 12 months, and now it is about having the belief in their abilities to start performing in the same way against bigger teams.
