Before the IND vs. ENG 3rd Test in Rajkot, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ravindra Jadeja are set to be felicitated by the Saurashtra Cricket Association. The duo will be honored for their achievements both for state and country by the SCA. While Cheteshwar Pujara is no longer a part of India’s Test setup, Ravindra Jadeja is a vital cog. It was expected that Pujara would get his callup after being sensational in the Ranji Trophy, but alas. On the other hand, Jadeja, who missed the second test with an injury, is back with the squad again.
SCA President Jaydev Shah said, “We will be felicitating both Pujara and Ravindra during the function for the new name of the stadium.”
Pujara has been a key player for India. On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja continues to shine and fly high. The all-rounder is currently ranked number one all-rounder in tests.
Jaydev added, “I can’t say much on that (Pujara not playing) because it’s the team management’s and selectors’ call, but had he been there, we would have been very proud. It’s not that we are not proud now, but we would have been more proud had he played. He has played over 100 Test matches, and not many have managed to do that in India. Him playing at Rajkot would have been great, but that’s part of the game. You don’t get everything you dream of. He has worked very hard. He made Saurashtra very proud.”
