The vice captain of the Indian women cricket team, Smriti Mandhana, says winning the gold medal in Asian games was a “very special moment for all.”

After winning the gold medal in the 19th Asian Games, the vice captain of the Indian women cricket team, Smriti Mandhana, said on Thursday that she is quite happy to contribute to the India medal tally in the multisport event and also added that singing the national anthem on the podium in Hangzhou made her emotional.
And amazing spells from Titas Sadhu and spin bowling from Deepti Sharma and Devika Vaidya helped the Indian cricket team achieve a target of 17 runs to clinch the gold medal in the Asian Games women's cricket tournament in their first outing.
At an event in Ahmedabad on Thursday, Mandhana said, “It was a very special moment for all when we won the gold medal. It felt great to see our national flag and sing our national anthem there. I was emotional. I am very happy that we could contribute to the medal tally.”
Earlier, the star batsman, Mandhana, received a very warm welcome at the Mumbai airport, as many fans and family members gathered there to welcome the gold medallist when she returned to Mumbai from China.
