The words of Sarfaraz Khan’s fuel for the U19 World Cup drive of Musheer Khan

The star of the India U19 team, Musheer Khan, is unbothered about being U19 World Cup 2024‘s highest run-getter. The prolific batter won’t be satisfied until the team lifts the trophy. Khan is currently the highest run-getter of the tournament, with 334 runs to his name.

Speaking to the ICC, Musheer said that while he was really happy about his performances, he wouldn’t be satisfied until he won the World Cup. He revealed that he had been thinking about the team going on to lift the trophy since the start of the tournament.

Musheer said, “I am happy with my performances, but I won’t be satisfied until we win the World Cup. As far as being the highest run-getter, I don’t want to think about it.

“Since we started playing the tournament, it was only about winning the World Cup, and that’s what we are focusing on. I only want to do well for the team and take the results as they come.”

Khan credited his elder brother Sarfaraz for motivating him to perform well in the tournament. He revealed that Sarfaraz had told him that there was no bigger pride than representing India.

Musheer added, “The first thing he told me before the U19 World Cup was that there is no bigger pride than playing for India. He told me to enjoy myself on the field, and whenever I get a chance—be it with the bat or ball—you have to pull the team up in any situation and win the game.

“He told me to play with all my heart because you are representing the country.”
