The young opener for India, Shubman Gill, became the fastest batsman to score 2000 ODI runs.

The young batsman of Indian cricket team Shubhman Gill completed 2000 runs in one-day internationals on Sunday during the ODI World Cup match against New Zealand at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala. He registered the record for fastest ODI runs in 2000, as he achieved the mark in 38 innings to break the long-standing record of Proteas batting legend Hashim Amla.
Gill scored 26 runs in the high-octane clash on Sunday, and during his short stay, he reached the 2,000 mark to register the massive record in his name.
