Tony Hemming has been appointed chief curator by PCB for two years

Tony Hemming, the Australian chief curator, has been appointed by the Pakistan Cricket Board as their new chief curator on a 2-year contract. In the past, the Pakistan Board had hired the surfaces of foreign curators like Andy Atkinson to help improve the quality of pictures in the country, but this is the first time it has offered a long-term contract to a foreign curator.

Hemming is from Western Australia, has walked in the past with the ICC, and has four decades of experience in pitch and outfield management. He has also worked on Melbourne, Perth, and Hobart grounds, apart from supervising tracks in Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

The foreign curator has been given the task of improving the quality of pictures for the upcoming home series against Bangladesh, England, and the West Indies this season, in addition to supervising the preparation of pictures for the domestic season.

PCB, in a statement, added that Hemming will also oversee pitch preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is going to be hosted by Pakistan from February 19 to March 9.
