Unsold Batsman of England James Vince cries foul over ECB’s NOC policy favouring IPL 2025 over PSL 10

England cricket team batter James Vince has expressed disappointment with the ECB’s new No-Objection Certificate (NOC) policy, which favors the Indian Premier League (IPL) over the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Recently, Vince made headlines by quitting first-class cricket to prioritize his participation in the PSL. He stated that the ECB’s policy “didn’t seem right,” arguing that playing in the PSL would allow players to miss less domestic cricket compared to the IPL.

In an interview, Vince highlighted the confusion surrounding the ECB’s decision, which appears to stem from its relationships with the BCCI and PCB. He noted that the PSL is a shorter tournament, enabling players to balance their commitments more effectively. Under the new policy, players are only granted NOCs for the IPL while being prohibited from participating in any league that clashes with England’s summer, including the PSL.

Vince’s move to focus on the PSL follows a challenging period for him personally, as his family has relocated to Dubai after experiencing security issues in Hampshire. Despite registering for the IPL auction at a base price of ₹2 crore and going unsold, he was retained by Karachi Kings in the PSL, further cementing his commitment to the league.
