Virat Kohli won the ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year, whereas Australia's Usman Khawaja won the ICC Men’s Test Cricketer, and Skipper Pat Cummin won the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy of the Year award

The run machine of Indian cricket team Virat Kohli has been adjudged the ICC Men's ODI Cricketer of the Year 2023. Kohli has become the first cricketer to win this award four times. His record-breaking run with the bat, especially in One Day Internationals, made headlines throughout the year. He smashed over 1,300 ODI runs in 2023, with 765 of these coming in the ICC Cricket World Cup.

On the other side, Usman Khawaja from the Australian cricket team has continued his exceptional recent form, securing the title of ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year for 2023. In a tough competition that included teammate Travis Head, India’s Ravichandran Ashwin, and England’s Joe Root, Khawaja emerged victorious after a stellar year that culminated in Australia clinching their first ICC World Test Championship title.

The standout performances by Usman Khawaja in 2023 were marked by a career-best score of 195* against South Africa at the beginning of the year. Notably, he excelled in the crucial away series against India, finishing as the top run-scorer with 333 runs, including a century and two fifties in four matches.

The captain of the Australian cricket team, Pat Cummins, was announced as the winner of the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for the ICC Men's Cricketer of the Year 2023. He had a stellar run with the bat and ball and garnered remarkable team accolades, including a victory in the ICC World Test Championship Final, the retention of the Ashes, and a record sixth triumph in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023.

Cummins' presence at the helm since late 2021 has lifted his team to greater heights. It has also sealed his legacy as a player who ups his game in positions of greater responsibility.
