While there are different reports suggesting that the mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders Gautam Gambhir is the frontrunner, Virat Kohli’s childhood coach, Rajkumar Sharma, has thrown a curveball into the mix by proposing MS Dhoni as a surprise candidate.
Rajkumar Sharma believes the illustrious cricketing career of Dhoni and his proven leadership qualities make him a compelling choice. Rajkumar Sharma said, “Dhoni has played a lot of cricket and has won big tournaments.” He highlighted Dhoni’s success in captaining India to two World Cup victories, demonstrating his ability to manage a dressing room filled with superstars.
While the official retirement of MS Dhoni remains unconfirmed, Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanath has hinted at Dhoni’s return for the next IPL season. This has added a layer of complexity to Dhoni’s potential coaching role.
