On Thursday, the star batsman of the Indian cricket team, Shafali Verma, created history. The right-handed batsman became the first Indian cricket team player to score a half-century at the Asian Games. She blasted and experienced an experienced Malaysian attack in the quarterfinal match with an amazing 67-run knock. The star batsman created a historic century in 31 balls with the help of a six down the ground. During her knock, Shafali smashed four boundaries and five sixes.

The Indian women's cricket team entered the semi-final of the event at the Asian Games 2023 because of their better ICC rankings after the quarter-final match on Thursday was abandoned due to rain. The match was reduced to a 250-over-side affair, and India scored 173 runs at a loss of 2 wickets.
