In the finals of the Hundred 2024, London Spirit Women pulled off a thrilling win against Welsh Fire Women, and was followed by passionate celebration from Heather Knight girls at the iconic Lord’s Stadium.
There was dancing in joy and hugs all around and when Heather Knight finally lifted the trophy with her team behind, it was quite a surreal moment. Each and every player had a big smile on their faces and they all jumped in unison with their hands on each other’s shoulders.

It was quite a close game between two teams. Welsh Fire Women scored 115 while batting first and in reply, London Spirit Women lost some early wickets. However, their were handy contributions from the middle order and with four needed off the final three balls, Deepti Sharma pulled off a stunning six and took her side over the line in a dramatic finish.
Deepti Sharma also took one wicket with the ball and was one of the biggest assets for the Spirit in the tournament. For Welsh Fire Women, Jess Jonassen scored a fifty while Shabnim Ismail picked three wickets, but they had to settle for the runners-up position in the end.
