Watch: Following his son's first-ton against Australia, Nitish Reddy's father breaks down.

During the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Melbourne, India's all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy reached his first Test century under tremendous duress. With his father, Mutyala Reddy, in the stands at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Nitish had a unique moment. After entering the game with India under the pump at 191/6, the 21-year-old reached an incredible century, and cameras captured his father praying in the grandstand, giving the impression that he was traveling with him. His father burst into tears and a riot of excitement as Nitish reached his century. Nitish and his father have endured hardships and sacrifices together; in order to sponsor Reddy's cricket career, his father even quit his work.

"My father left his job for me and there has been a lot of sacrifice behind my story. One day, I saw him crying because of the financial problems we were facing, and I was like, this is not how you can be. Then I got serious. I gave my first jersey to him and saw the happiness in his face," Reddy had told News reports.
