Dinesh Karthik showcased his exceptional skills with a stunning one-handed catch for the Paarl Royals during their SA20 match against MI Cape Town on January 15, 2025. The veteran wicketkeeper dismissed Azmatullah Omarzai off the bowling of Dayyaan Galiem in the fifth over, ending a promising opening partnership for MI Cape Town.
Karthik, who made history as the first Indian player to participate in the SA20 after being signed as a replacement for Jos Buttler, demonstrated his agility and reflexes with this remarkable catch. As Omarzai attempted to flick a delivery, the ball edged off his bat, and Karthik, initially moving to his left, dived to his right to secure the catch. Although the ball briefly popped out of his gloves, Karthik’s quick thinking allowed him to clasp it against his chest.
