Watch: In Nepal vs. Bangladesh, Batter of Bangladesh seeks dressing room’s help to review LBW decision

The T20 World Cup 2024 match between Bangladesh and Nepal was about more than just some exciting cricket. Bangladesh Jaker Ali made headlines when he seemed to check with the dressing room before helping Tanzim Hasan Sakib obtain a very late review after Sakib was declared leg before wicket against Sandeep Lamichhane.
This event happened in the 14th over of the Bangladesh innings. Tanzim was struck by Lamichhane on the pads, and the umpire ruled the batter out by raising his finger. Jaker Ali, the non-striker, was seen on camera seemingly looking toward the dressing room of his team as Sakib started to leave.

The DRS timer was about to go off when he motioned to his partner to review the decision. Replays contradicted the on-field call because they showed the ball missing off the stump. However, Tanzim’s brief reprieve was short-lived, as Lamichhane’s googly dismissed the 21-year-old on the very next delivery.
