Over the past 20 years, Pepsi and cricket have been synonymous, more so when the World Cup comes around. The likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, and Virat Kohli have been poster boys for Pepsi ads. However, bucking the trend this year, it seems Pepsi has roped in Pakistani pacer Shaheen Afridi as the brand ambassador for their World Cup 2023 campaign.
The Pakistani fast bowler was seen rehearsing a few lines for an advertisement shoot, and netizens are speculating it is for the new Pepsi ad. Shaheen donned the Pakistani team jersey for the shoot and was giving poses. Seeing the viral video, one of the netizens commented, “Swag on the field, swag off the field. Another user commented, “Face of Pakistani cricket.” While another one commented, “Hero.”

It is to be noted that Shaheen has been featured in a lot of advertisements, but this would be the first time he turned out for Pepsi. There is no official information yet that the left-hand bowler’s photoshoot was for a Pepsi advertisement.
Speaking about the Pakistan team, they played their first warm-up match against New Zealand and lost by five wickets. Pakistan will play another warm-up game against Australia on October 3.
