Fans of cricket witnessed a hard-won moment during the second ODI match between Bangladesh and New Zealand on Saturday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. The captain of Bangladesh cricket team Litton Das displayed sportsman spirit as he called back New Zealand’s spinner Ish Sodhi after the latter got run-out at non-striker’s end.
The incident happened in the 46th over of New Zealand’s innings. Bangladesh pacer Hasan Mahmud took off the bails at the non-striker’s end, as Sodhi was backing too much. While the third umpire gave him out, skipper Litton Das, after a brief chat with the on-field umpires, called Sodhi back.

Once Sodhi returned to the crease, he shared a hug with Hasan and shared smiles before resuming the match. Sodhi played a crucial cameo with the bat as his 35 off 39 balls helped the Blackcaps reach 254 in 49.2 overs.
Tom Blundell was the top scorer for the Kiwis, as he scored 68 runs off 66 balls with six fours and a six. For Bangladesh, Khaled and Mahedi Hasan were stars, with the ball picking up three wickets apiece.
